The Agricultural Commodity And Service Cooperative "Yssyk-Kol Organic" has been created in 2012. It is officially registered in the Ministry of Justice of Kyrgyzstan in June 2016. It is one of the first cooperatives in Kyrgyzstan which has received the certificate of IMO (Switzerland) on production of organic products. In 2013, the cooperative has begun to specialize in cultivation, drying and realization of medical herbs and in the same year begun to supply its product (dried roots of a valerian) to Germany. Having got the first experience in organic production, the cooperative, gradually, has begun to expand its activity.
In 2016, with the financial support of GIZ and the organizational support of PF "Bioservice", organic certification of the land plots of cooperative members in 3 districts of the Issyk-Kul oblast. The certification was carried out by the company «Organic Standard». As a result, 200 hectares of land plots were certified organic.
